Canadiens GM Kent Hughes places smart bet on Kirby Dach's potential
Montreal Canadiens signed centre Kirby Dach to a four-year, $13.45-million contract. The contract is worth $3.3625- million per year. Dached was drafted third overall in 2019. He played for the Chicago Blackhawks for three years. General manager Kent Hughes traded Alexander Romanov to the New York Islanders for 13th overall pick and traded the other pick to Chicago for Daches. He believes Dads' development under Martin St. Louis will be better. It's a big bet, considering what he gave up to get him. But it's worth it. His production to date is 19 goals and 59 points in 152 games.
