Canadiens left with plenty of lineup questions after winless pre-season

Montreal Canadiens lost 3-2 in overtime to Ottawa Senators in Bouctouche, N.B., on Saturday. It's the final pre-season game for coach Martin St. Louis and his staff. They will start the regular season on Wednesday.

Xhekaj made a name for himself this fall playing a rugged, in-your-face game. He was a standout with the OHL champion Hamilton Bulldogs last year. Xheikaj is an excellent skater and could be a big part of the team's future. Jordan Harris and Justin Barron don't appear ready for full-time action in the NHL. Jonathan Kovacevic was signed from Winnipeg Jets on Saturday. Cayden Primeau had a golden opportunity at the camp. Samuel Montembeault is unchallenged in race to back up Jake Allen. Nick Suzuki missed the first two-thirds of camp with a lower-body injury and the rest with an upper-bodies injury. Christian Dvorak, Mike Hoffman and Joel Armia are all currently nursing upper body injuries.
