Canterbury preview: Kris Lees looking for Yankee Hussel to step up

Yankee Hussel will run in a Benchmark 78 Handicap (1550m) at Canterbury on Wednesday. Kris Lees wants to see if his filly can race in better company over the spring. Leese has a huge hand in the last race on the card with three live chances in what looks like an open race. Loch Eagle heads the market at $5 with stablemates Geo ($8.50) and Samoot ($10). Audette is going to make her debut in the city on Wednesday. She has already done two barrier trials in preparation. Cholante is the favourite. Kylie Gavenlock wants Audette to win. She won three of her four races in her first preparation at Muswellbrook. Gvenlock hopes Audettes will be a Provincial Championships horse next year. If she can graduate to a city winner, she will have a rich race series next preparation in new year and be in contention for that.
