The Chicago Fire haven’t lost at home this season, but four of their five games at Soldier Field have ended in draws. The positive results leave them in 10th place in the MLS standings after nine games, while RBNY sit in 13th place. The NY Red Bulls head to Chicago looking for their first road win of the MLS season, as they have picked up three draws from five away games.

This is a season of transition for the Fire as they look to build off a strong 2022 finish and move into playoff contention. They began the season with seven goals in the first four games and have scored two or more goals in four of their last six league games. They also netted three in the US Open Cup game on Wednesday.

Against MLS teams, Kei Kamara leads the Fire with three goals. Designated player Xherdan Shaqiri has struggled to get going this season, but Chris Muller and Kacper Przybylko have picked up the slack with two goals each. Teenage goalkeeper Chris Brady has struggled to get going, with 11 goals allowed in seven MLS starts.

Mls picks have the Fire’s high as they won their third-round US Open Cup game on Wednesday over lower-division Chicago House. In the MLS schedule, they lost at Atlanta United FC last weekend by the score of 2-1 and drew 2-2 at home against Philadelphia Union on April 15.

Some mls odds are at jeopardy due to Chicago’s Jairo Torres injury in the season opener and hasn’t returned to action. Victor Bezerra and Justin Reynolds are also out with long-term injuries.

The Red Bulls are in the bottom three in the Eastern Conference MLS standings and desperately need to grab their first road win of the season. They haven’t won since March 18 and have three 1-1 draws in their last five games. In the other two games, they have been shutout, and RBNY have scored more than one goal just once this season.

New York has scored six goals in their nine games this season, and no player has scored more than once. Meanwhile, they have allowed more than one goal in just one game, the 2-0 loss at Montreal last Saturday. The defense has done their part, but the offense is very uninspiring through the first two months of play.

The team selection for the Red Bulls will be both interesting and difficult. Kyle Duncan (yellow cards) and Dante Vanzier (Suspended) are both unavailable. Regular starters Lewis Morgan, Frankie Amaya, and Luquinhos are all doubtful with injuries. Serge Ngoma, Steven Sserwadda, and Matthew Nocita are all rehabbing long-term injuries.

The Red Bulls haven’t played since a 2-0 road loss in MLS action at Montreal CF last Saturday. They drew 1-1 against the Houston Dynamo at home on April 15 and also drew 1-1 against San Jose Earthquakes in an April 8 home game.

The Red Bulls have just two goals on the road this season, and though defense isn’t Chicago’s strong suit, they should be able to impose their will in this game. The Fire forced 22 turnovers last week in Atlanta’s defending third and turned four of those into shots.

If they can turn the Red Bulls over the same rate on Saturday, they will be in a comfortable spot to win.

  • Over/Under looking at the Chicago Fire vs NY Red Bulls odds, take the under 2.5 goals.
  • Moneyline/Run Line Looking at the Chicago Fire vs NY Red Bulls odds, take the Fire on the money line.
