Chivas Femenil: ‘Chingonas’ EP 1: ‘En Busca del Exito’

Chivas have released a miniseries about their women's team. The first episode has been released and is available on YouTube and ChivasTV. Here's a review of the first one called 'Chingonas' or in English 'Badass'.

After a disappointing end to the Apertura 2020, Guadalajara are focused on the Clausura 2021. The rojiblancas ended the season in second place and blew by Toluca and rivals Atlas to book their ticket to final against Tigres. Unfortunately, they were too much for Chivas to handle and Tigre were crowned champions. Club America finished fourth place.

Chivas finished the season in second place with goal differential separating first and second. Alicia ‘Licha’ Cervantes won the golden boot for a consecutive time with 14 goals, compared to her 17 during the Apertura. Chivas beat Monterrey in the Campeon de Camperones. Blanca Felix saved a penalty in a shootout. Chiva's won their second title. They had been playing once every three days for weeks.

The episode about Chivas Femenil was great, but the omission of some of the team's history left it a bit disappointing. It's unknown how many episodes there will be or if there'll be more.
