Cleveland Cavaliers Game Tonight: Cavs vs Magic Odds, Starting Lineup, Injury Report, Predictions, TV channel for Dec. 2

November was a good month for the Cleveland Cavaliers, with multiple injuries unable to stop them from going 9-7 to stay around the top of the league. Now the calendar turns to December, a month with tough opponents but plenty of home games.

The first home game has a softer landing, however, with an Orlando Magic team coming to town that is packed with talented players but dealing with injury issues of its own as those players come together. It would surprise no one to say this could be a playoff matchup next season; this year it’s a team thriving while playing big hosting a team charting its own uber-big course.

Betting odds, spread, over/under

The Cavs sit at the top of the standings, while the Magic sit near the bottom. With both teams down a starting center and a backup big the Cavs maintain their edge, and are accordingly favored by 10 points at home per WynnBet. The over/under point total is set to 216.

Cavs injury report

Lamar Stevens (probable, illness); Kevin Love (doubtful, thumb); Jarrett Allen (out, back); Ricky Rubio (out indefinitely, knee); Dylan Windler (out indefinitely, ankle)

Cleveland Cavaliers starting lineup tonight

Cavs: Darius Garland, Donovan Mitchell, Dean Wade, Mamadi Diakite, Evan Mobley

Magic: Markelle Fultz, Gary Harris, Bol Bol, Franz Wagner, Paolo Banchero

Prediction

The Orlando Magic have been a lot of fun to watch this season. They have started multiple games with the 7’2″ Bol Bol at shooting guard, lined up alongside the largest frontcourt in the league now that Lauri Markkanen is in Utah and not suiting up for the Cavs anymore. The Magic will only be slightly smaller tonight when Bol will slide down to center to replace the injured Wendell Carter Jr.

The size of Orlando likely means that Mamadi Diakite will start again, although J.B. Bickerstaff could go for another unique starting lineup and play Lamar Stevens in his return. Either way, the Cavs have the edge offensively with their two perimeter creators in Donovan Mitchell and Darius Garland; there is a lot to like about Franz Wagner and Paolo Banchero, but they aren’t at Mitchell and Garland’s level yet.

The true trump card is Evan Mobley, whose defensive impact could be the catalyst for a second-consecutive home blowout for the Cavs. His incredible instincts and fluid movements should keep the Magic out of the paint, and if he can continue to attack the defensive glass the Magic’s night could be done early.

Prediction: Cleveland 105, Orlando 92

CAVALIERS (-10.0), UNDER
