Clippers vs. Hawks NBA expert prediction and odds for Monday, Feb. 5 (Bet on Los Ange

The Los Angeles Clippers picked up a hard-fought win on Sunday night, and now they’ll have a quick turnaround against the Atlanta Hawks to close out their road trip on Monday.

Atlanta has won four straight games, pulling to 22-27 on the season with just a few days to go before the trade deadline. The Hawks may make a big move and trade Dejounte Murray, but for now, it appears they’re looking to make a playoff push.

This is the second night of a back-to-back for the Clippers, but Kawhi Leonard and Paul George have been suiting up in those more often than not this season. That’s a great sign for the team as a slight favorite on the road.

Let’s dive into the odds and my best bet for this game with the Clippers set as small favorites.

Los Angeles Clippers injury report

Atlanta Hawks injury report

Los Angeles Clippers

Kawhi Leonard: The Clippers star is looking like a real MVP candidate, scoring 25 or more points in five straight games and leading the Clippers into a race for the No. 1 seed in the Western Conference. Kawhi had 25 in the team’s win over Miami last night, and he’s played in the second night of a back-to-back six times this season.

Atlanta Hawks

Trae Young: After getting snubbed from the All-Star Game (for now), Young has been on a tear. He’s averaging 30.6 points and 11.4 assists per game over his last five matchups. He’ll need to have a big game to beat a tough Clippers team.

I love the Clippers in this spot, as they’re taking on an Atlanta team that is one of the worst teams in the NBA as a home dog, going just 2-5 ATS this season.

Even though the Clippers have been a team to avoid on back-to-backs in the past, they are 4-3 ATS on the second night of them this season, tying them for the fifth-best cover percentage in the NBA in that spot this season.

The Clippers are also 11-7 ATS as road favorites, adding another win to their record on Sunday night.

The Hawks have been playing better basketball as of late, but they still don’t defend, ranking 24th in the league in defensive rating over their last 10 games.

In that same stretch, Los Angeles ranks No. 2 in the NBA in offensive rating and No. 8 in defensive rating.

As long as Leonard and George play, I think the Clippers run away with this game. The Hawks missing Capela is a huge loss for their rim protection, especially after Ivica Zubac returned for the Clippers last night.

Pick: Clippers Moneyline (-148)
