CODY DURDEN VS JAKE HADLEY LOWDOWN

Cody Durden (10-1) went 1-2-1 in his first four UFC fights, but he has found his mojo with some classy performances. He responded to his submission loss to Muhammad Movaev (2022) by knocking out JP Buys (2022) and earning unanimous decisions over Carlos Mota (2022) and Charles Johnson back in April.

Jake Hadley (21-6) is also finding his form after a loss on debut. He suffered the first loss of his career thanks to Allan Nascimento (2022) who won the unanimous decision. However, the Brummie has responded with a submission over Carlos Candelario (2022) and a first-round knockout over Malcolm Gordon back in March.

CODY DURDEN VS JAKE HADLEY PREDICTION

Both fighters are very strong grapplers with Hadley relying more on his jiu-jitsu and Durden his wrestling.

Hadley is the better striker with solid technical boxing from his southpaw stance. He attacks the body and also kicks well so if he can find his rhythm, Durden will be in for a long night.

Durden is also dangerous on the feet, but we expect his to waste little time in shooting for a takedown. He will chain takedowns together and we expect him to find it relatively easy to take Hadley down.

Once they hit the canvas, Hadley will be a constant submission threat and will make Durden work hard to keep him on the deck.

Hadley has more tools at his disposal, but we expect Durden’s wrestling to blunt those tools and subdue him long enough to win a couple rounds at least and as the underdog, he is the pick.

Prediction: Durden via Decision
