College basketball Feast Week: Predictions and top tournaments

College basketball's Feast Week is in full swing. The best programs in the sport are playing each other from morning until late at night. Here are the five events you'll want to keep an eye on.

Baylor, Illinois, UCLA and Virginia are in the NCAA basketball tournament. They are playing each other on Friday. The game will be a litmus test for Illinois and UCLA. Virginia is excited about the prospect of playing against a team that won't be easy to beat. Illinois has a new-look roster with a freshman point guard in Skyy Clark. UCLA has two freshmen in key roles in Amari Bailey and Adem Bona.

Maryland, Miami, Providence and Saint Louis are in the NCAA tournament. All four teams are on the bubble. Kevin Willard has won three games in his first three weeks in charge at Maryland. SaintLouis is coming off a win over Memphis. Providence had a breakthrough season in 2021–22 and Miami went to the Elite Eight in 22/23.

Louisville is off to a bad start. Creighton and Arkansas are in the field. Ohio State is receiving votes. The field includes seven NCAA tournament contenders and one of the great programs in college basketball history. The winner of this tournament will play in a potential semifinal.

This tournament will be a big test for Arizona. Arizona got a No. 1 seed in Tommy Lloyd's first season.

The field for the Feast Week tournament at Atlantis in the Bahamas is strong. There is a strong field again, including defending national champion Kansas. Dayton and Kansas have had a knack for producing instant classics. Tennessee entered the year on the fringes of the top 10 nationally but lost at home to Colorado.

The Phil Knight Invitational features some of the largest Nike-sponsored schools in a two-tournament basketball bash hosted in Portland over Thanksgiving weekend. The Invitation features Alabama, Iowa State, Michigan State and North Carolina. For the first time, there is also a women's bracket. The Legacy features Duke, Florida, Gonzaga, Oregon State. and Portland State as well as Xavier. UConn is the favorite to win the tournament.
