College Football Rankings by Top US Sportsbooks

The first third of the regular season of college football is in the books. The first three teams in rankings are Georgia Bulldogs, Alabama Crimson Tide and Ohio State Buckeyes. According to ESPN’s Power Index, those three have a minimum 24.2% chance to win the rest of their games. FanDuel and DraftKings have their odds set to +200 for Alabama and Georgia to prevail as collegefootball national champions. Caesars has listed Ohio state as the third favorite at +265. Clemson Tigers are the second favorite with +1600.

Georgia is the current No. 1 team in the college football rankings. Georgia's biggest competition is a Dec. 3 date against Alabama.

The Crimson Tide have to play four national-ranked teams to finish the regular season undefeated. If they succeed, the SEC Championship will be the first of two meetings against the Bulldogs.

Ohio State Buckeyes are third in the college football rankings. They play Penn State and Michigan in regular season. The big test comes in a playoff game against Georgia or Alabama.

Clemson is earmarked as a national power in the ACC. The Tigers are underdogs in three of the top three teams they will face in national playoffs.

USC has a road game against Utah on Oct. 15 to finish to regular season undefeated. The Pac-12 Championship will not be the problem, but the college football playoffs will.

Michigan has a road game against Ohio State to end the regular season. The Wolverines might represent East Division in the Big Ten Conference Championship and win, but they would come into the first round of the national playoffs as double-digits underdogs.

Utah has to beat USC on Oct. 15 and Oregon on Nov. 19 to be considered a contender for the Pac-12 Conference Championship.

Tennessee has a home game against Alabama on Oct. 15 and a road game with Georgia on Nov. 5.

Penn State has a road game against Michigan on Oct. 15 and a home game with Ohio State on October 29.

North Carolina State Wolfpack play a back-to-back October road games against Clemson and Florida State.

Oklahoma lost to Kansas State. The Sooners still have games against Texas, Baylor and Oklahoma State to play.
