Colorado Avalanche vs Anaheim Ducks Game Preview and Prediction 4/9/2023

The Colorado Avalanche and Anaheim Ducks are all set for a fun Western Conference matchup tonight. Puck-drop is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. EST from Honda Center in Orange County, California.  

Colorado comes in having really picked things up from their slow start to the season. The defending champions look like themselves once again and are in a battle for the Central Division currently. They need all the points they can get to maximize their seeding in the standings so making sure they get both against the lowly Ducks would go a long way. This team has an explosive offense and one that can score very quickly. Against a poor Anaheim defense, the Avalanche should look to attack early and often. The Ducks are prone to giving up a ton of goals so Colorado should look to play fast and free. 

Anaheim comes into this game not playing strong hockey at all. The entire season has gone poorly and is one that the franchise will want to forget. However, not lost as they are firmly looking ahead to the NHL Draft and have a good chance for a top pick. It would be a nice consolation prize for the type of year they have had. This is a team that struggles to score goals and generate much offense while also giving up goals like crazy to opposing teams. As they face the defending champions tonight, the Ducks defense better be ready for an offensive attack otherwise it will be another long night for the Ducks.

Prediction: Colorado Avalanche 6, Anaheim Ducks 2

Give me Colorado to make easy work of the Ducks tonight. They are very much the better team, and it shows here.
