Comeback ‘Kid’ Red Knight Regained Vigor, Ready for Breeders’ Cup Turf Test

Red Knight won the Kentucky Cup Turf Stakes at Kentucky Downs on Sept. 10. It was his second start after a series of poor starts. He was shipped to Grace Full Oaks Training Center in Ocala, Florida, to be trained by Chad Stewart. The horse had previously been trained for a time by Hall of Famer Bill Mott. Red Knight received the same patient handling from trainer Mike Maker. He won his first race since the Sycamore Stake on Oct. 15, 2020, at Keeneland. His next race is the Longines Breeders’ Cup on Nov. 5 at the Keeneleland Race Course.
