Commissioners consider pari-mutuel betting resolution
Goshen County commissioners discussed bringing a pari-mutuel betting location to Torrington off of Main street. Wyoming legalized parI-Mutuel Betting for historic horse racing in 2016. The state of Wyoming allows par I-M betting on events that have previously occurred. It also allows for wagering on the outcome of events not controlled by chance alone.
Commissioners are considering a resolution approving pari-mutuel betting on live horse racing, historic horse races and simulcast events within Goshen County, Wyoming. Greer and Ridgeway want to bring a parionet in Torrington, but they want the residents of Gosen County to have a say before the board makes any decisions. Parionets are legal in Wyoming and payouts are between 90-93%. The business partners want their business to recruit, train and employ local Gosens County and Torrens residents.
