Conn Smythe odds: Bet on Sergei Bobrovky before it's too late

If things keep up the way they’ve been going, the NHL Conference Finals are going to be over before they know it.

As of writing this article, the Florida Panthers have a 3-0 lead on the Carolina Hurricanes and the Vegas Golden Knights have a 2-0 lead on the Dallas Stars.

So, with the Stanley Cup Final almost decided, it’s time to place some bets on the Conn Smythe winner. Now might be the last time there’s betting value available.

Don’t forget, the Conn Smythe is not like the NBA Finals MVP or the Super Bowl MVP. The Conn Smythe takes into consideration the entire NHL Playoffs, not just the final.

So, let’s look at the latest odds and then I’ll give you my best bet.

Conn Smythe Trophy odds

Bet on Sergei Bobrovsky to win Conn Smythe Trophy

The two-time Vwzina Trophy winner as the NHL’s top goalie has turned back the clock in the NHL Playoffs, leading the No. 8 seed Florida Panthers to being one win away from the Stanley Cup Final.

He has a stunning .935 save percentage so far in the postseason, by far the best amongst all goaltenders.

Not only is he a near lock to win the Conn Smythe Trophy is the Panthers win the Stanley Cup, but there’s even a small chance he wins it if they get to the Stanley Cup Final and lose.

The last time the Conn Smythe was awarded to someone on the losing team was in 2003 when it was given to goaltender Jean-Sebastian Giguere of the Anaheim Mighty Ducks, who lost to the New Jersey Devils in seven games.

Giguere’s save percentage that postseason was .945, not terribly far off what Bobrovsky’s is sitting at heading into game 4 of the Eastern Conference Final.

It’s clear that the only bet to make to win the Conn Smythe Trophy right now, is Bobrovsky. If you decide to wait until the Stanley Cup Final matchup has been decided, it will be too late and the value will be gone.

Bet on Bobrovsky before Game 4 on Wednesday.
