Croatia shows ruthless streak, exposing and eliminating Canada (video)

Croatia came back from a goal down to beat Canada 4-1 in Al Rayyan. Andrej Kramaric had two goals and Ivan Perisic two assists in the win. Marko Livaja and Lovro Majer also scored for Croatia. Canada will finish its tournament with Morocco. Croatia will have four points and play Belgium.

Alphonso Davies' goal gave Canada hope after they lost to Belgium. Croatia's experience helped them overcome the Canadian storm. Canada's back line was breached. Canada will go home. It can be difficult to rebound from a setback when you've been playing with the mentality of the underdog. This is a World Cup and there shouldn't be a team that requires motivation to find effort. The Canadian defense was overperforming. They produced talented technical forwards at the expense of their unglorified group at their back.

Canada lost 1-0 to Belgium in their first game at the World Cup in 36 years. Croatia's opening game against Morocco was disappointing.
