Daniil Medvedev is the third seed here at the 2023 Dubai Open and is ranked 7th on the ATP Tour. The Russian is a former number one that has seen his results and ranking slide lately. However, After a disappointing Australian Open he has really picked it up, winning back to back titles in Rotterdam and Qatar. Given his form, he is one of the major favorites to lift the trophy here, and has been dominant so far, defeating Arnaldi and Bublik both in straight sets. His serve has really been clicking this week, and when that is working he is incredibly tough to beat given his returning prowess. He is the favorite here against Borna Coric but this will be his toughest test so far.

Borna Coric is the 8th seed here at the Dubai Open and is ranked 20th in the world. The Croat is as solid as they come, with rock solid groundstrokes and elite movement. He has looked good this week but was severely tested in the last round by Thanasi Kokkinakis, escaping with a three set victory. There must be some element of fatigue here, and a match against Daniil Medvedev is a scary prospect, especially if you aren’t at your best.
