Derby hope Auguste Rodin enhances reputation at Leopardstown
Auguste Rodin won the KPMG Champions Juvenile Stakes at Leopardstown. The Deep Impact colt was the 11-10 favourite for Ryan Moore and Aidan O'Brien. Caroline Street finished second.
O'Brien is happy with Auguste Rodin's performance at Leopardstown. He travelled well and is a lovely mover. Auguster Rodins is by Deep Impact and bred by a mare sent from Japan. O'Brien reckons Augusters could be a middle-distance horse. He is cut from 16-1 to 12- 1 with Coral for both 2000 Guineas and the Derby.
Tom Marquand rides I'm A Gambler to a €150,000 Irish Stallion Farms EBF "Sovereign Path" Handicap at Leopardstown. Charlie and Mark Johnston-trained I'm A. Gamblers held off the late charge of John Quinn's Safe Voyage. Safe voyage was drawn in stall 19.
Zarinsk won the Listed Ballylinch Stud Irish EBF Ingabelle Stakes. Ger Lyons-trained filly won a maiden at the Curragh in May and was fourth in both her following runs. Colin Keane is confident that Zarinsk can go for a mile.
