Dewe continues great strike rate
Tyler Dewe continues to have a great strike rate as his horse Sophie won at Roxburgh today. The mare was his twelfth race day starter and his sixth winner. He bought the horse from Prebbleton trainer John McDermott. It was painted in colours of part owner Murray Faul. Faul trained at Ascot Park for 30 years. He owns a half share in the mares. Warren McGown owns the other half. Rory McIIwrick took the five-year-old straight to the top in today's $10,000 Lake Roxburg Contracting/ SGT Dan Stockfoods Mobile Pace.
Sophie is out of the Christian Cullen mare Supreme Gem whose dam Flying Sands won eleven races. Teddy Baker is currently spelling. Blair Orange won 2500th race on Tony Stratford trained Peaky Lou. The 2,500 Club is an elite group of New Zealand drivers.
Orange's first winner was Whizza Nova at Reefton in December 1996. He's won twenty three Group One races in his twenty six season career. Orange has won the last five Drivers Premierships.
