Dodgers News: The MVP Odds Case for Freddie Freeman

The Major League Baseball wildcard round is over. The final eight teams are preparing to play in a more traditional playoff series. Baseball Writers’ Association of America votes for league Cy Young and MVP awards. Aaron Judge is the overwhelming favorite for the American League MVP Award. Trea Turner, Mookie Betts, Freddie Freeman, Manny Machado, Paul Goldschmidt, Nolan Arenado and Francisco Lindor are the other players who could win the National League Award for Best Player.

Paul Goldschmidt and Nolan Arenado had stellar seasons for the Arizona Diamondbacks. They are sharing the roster with Albert Pujols, Yadier Molina, and Adam Wainwright. Freddie Freeman and Manny Machado are also playing for an MVP award.

Freddie Freeman was the best player on the Los Angeles Dodgers team that won 112 games. He led the league in hits, doubles, runs, on-base percentage, and times on base.

The league MVP Award usually goes to the player with the highest offensive numbers. Goldschmidt and Freeman are expected to finish 1-2 in the baseball writers voting.
