DP World Tour Qualifying School Final Stage: Players to watch at Infinitum

Ricardo Gouveia is playing in the Portugal Masters. He finished eighth in a PGA Tour event in July. His last start was in Portugal where he was 66/1 shot. The only players who finished ahead of him in Race to Dubai are 18/3 and 33/2.

Max Schmitt is a former world-class amateur who played on the Challenge Tour this year. He finished 23rd on Road to Mallorca and lost a play-off for the penultimate event. His initial 150/1 price has been slashed to 66/1000. He played in 17 tournaments, fewer than all but two of the 20 players who gained cards.

Ashley Chesters is playing in the ISPS Handa Championship this week. He finished 23rd at the Lakes course despite finishing inside the top 10 after each of the first two rounds. His best form came recently in Mallorca. He's capable of being right towards the leaderboard, but lacks a little oomph.

Garrick Porteous is playing at the DP World Tour Qualifying School Final Stage at Infinitum. He was 14th in the last event there in May.

Cormac Sharvin is a former winner of the Brabazon Trophy and played Walker Cup golf before turning professional. He has had a miserable year on the DP World Tour and made just one cut since April. In Las Colinas he finished fourth at second stage.

Jonathan Caldwell is playing at the DP World Tour Qualifying School at Infinitum. Caldwell won on the Tour last summer. He finished 19th at this event. He had a poor season but showed signs of improvement towards the end. His putter is his best club.

John Axelsen shot a final-round 63 and climbed more than 30 places to finish just inside the cut-off. He was 11 shots behind Joel Sjoholm and Pieter Moolman at the second stage. Axelson is an exciting youngster from Denmark and has the potential to join the Hojgaard twins on the main circuit.

Luis Masaveu is playing at the DP World Tour Qualifying School Final Stage. He finished T3 at Emporda last week. Masaveru has already surpassed expectations.

Alejandro Canizares is favourite for the second stage qualifier at Infinitum. Kanaya, Kiradech Aphibarnrat and Renato Paratore are also in the field. Canisares topped the leaderboard here in 2018 and was third a year later.

Braden Thornberry is a former world-class amateur who has recently returned to PGA Tour form. Tom Lewis and Niklas Lemke are two drivers who could enjoy the Lakes course. Dylan Naidoo and Hayden Hopewell are also players to watch at Infinitum.  Gouveia is returning to the top and is one of the standout candidates.
