DraftKings Partnering with Cumberland Run for Kentucky Sports Betting Launch

It’s almost time for online sportsbooks in Kentucky to go live. Before the Kentucky sports betting launch in September, DraftKings has partnered with Cumberland Run. Here’s what we know so far about DraftKings and the team-up with ECL Entertainment.

DraftKings and Cumberland Run Deal Details

The deal partnering DraftKings and Cumberland Run is through ECL Entertainment’s subsidiary ECL Corbin. They also own The Mint Gaming Hall at Cumberland as well. Corbin and its properties are teaming up with DraftKings in Kentucky to bring a great mobile betting option along with in-person betting.

ECL Entertainment also owns a few historical horse racing facilities in the state of Kentucky. This partnership allows DraftKings to enter another legal state to bring its strong sports betting platform to bettors in the Bluegrass state.

DraftKings Adds Kentucky Sports Betting Launch to Legal States

With the addition of Kentucky in September, DraftKings will be legal in 22 states for online sportsbooks. They are legal in a total of 24 states if you include in-person betting options. This has led to the sportsbook having a strong market share.

In the last year, DraftKings has had strong launches in states like Ohio and Massachusetts. It hopes to have another great run in the state of Kentucky as bettors finally get to place wagers on their favorite sports teams.

Latest on the Kentucky Sports Betting Launch in September

Retail locations will be welcoming customers on September 7. This is great news for NFL bettors as they can place wagers in person for week one of the season. Online betting will begin on September 28 as several sportsbooks plan to launch with mobile options in the state.

The Kentucky Horse Racing Commission is allowing for pre-registration starting on August 28. This means Kentucky bettors can register for the top available online sportsbooks early to claim promo codes and bonuses.

Users who sign up early cannot place a deposit until September 7. Then, they will be able to place wagers on launch day which is September 28. The top sportsbooks are expected to have pre-registration offers to attract new users to sign up early and that way they will be ready to rock on launch day.
