DraftKings Partners With NASCAR For North Carolina Mobile Entry

DraftKings and NASCAR have entered into a written designation agreement that will give the sportsbook mobile sports betting access in North Carolina.

North Carolina’s sports betting market is expected to go live in the first half of 2024, and operators are required to partner with professional sports leagues, franchises, or venues to gain mobile access.

“DraftKings and NASCAR have collaborated closely with each other over the years, sharing a likeminded commitment to enhancing the fan experience,” Matt Kalish, president, DraftKings North America, said in a statement issued Friday. “We look forward to the next chapter in our journey together and offering our leading mobile sportsbook to fans in the state of North Carolina.”

North Carolina will be the 27th state where DraftKings is in operation, and DraftKings will also become NASCAR’s exclusive daily fantasy sports partner in the U.S. and Canada

Several other operators have announced partnerships that will allow their betting apps to operate in North Carolina.

Fanatics Sportsbook has partnered with the NHL’s Carolina Hurricanes, while bet365 will work with the NBA’s Charlotte Hornets. ESPN BET has linked up with the Quail Hollow Club, a PGA Tour venue, and FanDuel’s relationship with the PGA gives it market access. BetMGM announced Friday it will partner with Charlotte Motor Speedway for North Carolina mobile access.

Caesars Sportsbook is expected to gain access through an existing relationship with the state’s tribal casinos, while Underdog has yet to officially announce partnerships for mobile wagering access.

An official timeline for a North Carolina mobile launch has yet to be determined, but Governor Roy Cooper recently suggested that the state’s lottery hopes to have the market up and running by mid-March.
