Ducks at Sharks preseason: Lines, open thread

On Sunday night, the Vegas Golden Knights got a steady helping of Tomas Hertl, Filip Zadina and Mike Hoffman with Hertl scoring a goal and tagging on two assists. Since this is the preseason, odds are that Hertl and company will sit this one out in favor of giving some of the other players at camp a taste of the preseason.

Logan Couture is still considered week to week and is not skating with the team at this time.

The team practiced this morning and the “game group” featured veteran players like Oskar Lindblom, Mikael Granlund and Kevin Labanc as well as young players like William Eklund and Kasper Halttunen. Ryan Carpenter was not there for the morning skate, but is expected to play tonight.

On the other side of the ice, Sharks fans will see some familiar faces. Andrew Agozzino will skate with the Ducks. So will Scott Harrington, who was traded as part of the Timo Meier deal with the New Jersey Devils only to be placed on waivers and picked up by Anaheim last season.

In net, former Sharks Alex Stalock may get some time for the Ducks tonight.

Anaheim won its first preseason game in overtime on Sunday night, beating the Los Angeles Kings 3-2. Jackson LaCombe scored two goals for the Ducks including the game winner in overtime. Sam Carrick scored the other goal for Anaheim. Both are expected

Head Coach David Quinn says Blackwood will get the start for the Sharks with Romanov playing backup.

Not sure which of the defense pairs above are watching from the box tonight. Obviously, the Ducks aren’t playing eight defensemen. Another note, the Ducks website says Jaxsen Wiebe is traveling with the team instead of Brayden Tracey, though Tracey’s the name on the line sheet handed out by the Sharks this morning. Could be a last minute change.
