Duke Football Position Preview

Duke Football's Offensive Line is the likeliest position group on the roster with the most opportunity for change after starters Chance Lytle and Andre Harris exhausted their eligibility. Coming in to Fall Camp, there were questions as to whether sixth year Guard Maurice McIntyre would be back healthy after missing the last eight games of the 2022 season. But he was a full participant in the first fall practice and has been working to get in to game-playing shape ever since.

Head Coach Mike Elko told reporters after the first practice that getting McIntyre back is "big", but also opened his remarks with some negative injury news regarding Redshirt Sophomore Justin Pickett, who suffered a lower body injury just before camp began. While there's still question as to how ready Pickett will be when the season kicks off on September 3rd against Clemson, three starters can be locked in - Graham Barton, Jacob Monk, and McIntyre (as long as he's healthy).

Offensive Line Adam Cushing has plenty of returning talent to work with, and the coaching staff went out looking for new additions in the transfer portal. One of those incoming transfers, Jake Hornibrook from Stanford, looks to be the odds-on favorite to open the year at Right Tackle, while the majority of the others are on the team as walk-on contributors fighting for playing time.
