Dundee United 0 Celtic 0 LIVE score as Don Robertson changes mind on penalty after VAR check

The woe and ire which followed the traumatising 9-0 defeat Dundee United suffered against today's opponents was hard to shake.

It cost Jack Ross his job as Tannadice threatened to explode with anger but successor Liam Fox has added a steel to a side who are aiming to exit their early relegation fears. There's still some ways to go, of course, and a clash with Celtic remains THE challenge for every side in Scotland.

The champions have won a remarkable 20 games out of 22 this season and they have only lost one league game since September 2021 – a remarkable run with Ange Postecoglou's side aiming to restore their nine-point advantage over Rangers once more. And travelling punters are hoping for a first glimpse at new man Oh with the South Korean part of the squad.

And goals could be on the agenda with 17 netted already this year as Kyogo and Liel Abada scored in added time to secure three points for for the hosts.

H/T: Dundee United 0 Celtic 0

Pretty standard fare until the late penalty drama before the break.

Don Robertson said YES before a rethink after consulting with VAR.

But it's certainly fired up the away fans.

It remains 0-0.

Celtic go again

And are hunting for the opener after being denied by VAR.

Extra time added due to the lengthy check.

NO PENALTY!

Ange shakes his head and there is no penalty at Tannadice.

Celtic fans have an expletive chant aimed straight at decision makers.

Check time

VAR is checking for offisde which seems to indicate a penalty but now the referee is heading to his monitor.

Penalty Celtic!

For a foul from Birighitti on Kyogo.

But it is being checked by VAR.

Oh the drama.

Hatate hits the post

A cross or shot?

Who knows but it hits the post and Mooy nearly scores.

Hatate magic

Scottish football's pass master is up to his usual with a ridiculous reverese pass to free Mooy.

And the Australian is inches away from the perfect cross for Abada.

The Israeli winger slices an effort wide moments later but it remains 0-0 heading to half time.

Starfelt in spinning top mode

Celtic fans reckon the defender is underrated but sometimes he gets his feet in a tangle and a crass clearance draws a sigh from pal Carter Vickers.

Ange turning in the opposite direction lets you know what he thought as well.

Freeman down

And Celtic will get the drop ball after treatment.

Abada gets it wrong

The winger was primed to strike but had a change of heart and his lofted ball for Kyogo was all wrong.

Hatate follows up with more danger and his ball goes out for a corner.

Kyogo Keane

Not only a striker, he's well up for getting physical in the middle of the park.

The Celtic striker is full of confidence.

Old head rises

Fletcher remains a handful even in the twilight of his career.

Birighitti brilliance

A stunning save to stop Kyogo as he gets a toe on Kyogo's netbound reverse shot after Johnston's disguised ball into the box.

Celtic, not at full pelt, are still creating loads of chances.

Ange demanding more

The manager has high standards and isn't shy on letting his players hear about it.

Hatate just wide

The midfielder was sure that was in.

But he slices just past the post amid a strong spell for Celtic.

Jota again

This time his strike lacks the curl needed to find the back post but he is bright as a button here.

Jota on it

If Celtic aren't sparkling in unison then it doesn't apply to Jota - the winger's fizzing effort to force a big save out of Birighitti being the latest sign.

A stunning flick from Hatate freed Jota for his initial cross before striking on the rebound.

Dundee United settling

They know better than most the dangers Celtic possess but a strong opening 20 minutes.

But a long way to go.

Mooy wants more

Cracking fizzing cross across the six yard line but Hatate, Kyogo and Jota were frozen.

The Australian wanted at least one of them to make their move.

Fletcher dangerous

And heads onto the roof off the net after pinball in the box.

Dundee United are doing well but are acutely aware only a goal would change the trajectory off this contest.

Johnston gets away with one

Don Robertson says foul only but a cynical pull back from the full back after a heavy touch.

Behich overcooks it

After dangerous play from Middleton trying to spark a dangerous counter attack.

Johnston gets a thumbs up

The Angeball way sees wing backs end up in midfield and the Canadian almost conjures up a defence splitting ball for Abada.

It doesn't come off, however, the winger gives his pal a thumbs up.

Chance for Dundee United

Well, a chance to lump it into the box and Sibbald's curling ball almost finds Fletcher before it lands in the grateful hands of Hart.

Kyogo close

The big chance which was miscued in the first 30 seconds.

Jota next

The winger skins Freeman and his pitching wedge cross to the back post clears everyone.

But bright and full of intent from one of the men who makes Celtic tick.

Celtic on it

Not a major surprise to anyone who watches them but it's another fast start.

With all the main players getting on the ball.

Kyogo goes close

Eye of the needle pass from Jota finds his goal hungry strike pal but the man of the moment miscues and it lands in the away end.

But a bright start from the champions.

Almost 1-0 up after 30 seconds.

Oh says hello!

The new man is getting to know his new followers.
