Ed Brown Society partners with Churchill Downs for scholarship

Churchill Downs donated $50,000 to the Ed Brown Society to help minority students in the horse racing industry. The program will recruit area minority college students interested in learning the business side of thoroughbred horse races. Ed. Brown was a slave and a famous horseman. The Ed brown society hopes to partner with other horse tracks in future. Charles Churchill recently completed an internship at Gulf Stream Park in Florida. He is an equine science major at UK. "They are willing to go and they are going to do anything for the chance to get into the industry," Churchill says.
