England’s World Cup bid shows sport has a way of uniting us like no current politician could

Sports unite people like no politician could. Sports are connected more through sports than religion. The World Cup in Qatar and the cricket World cup in Australia brought people together. The power of something bigger than us has the power to unite us. It is not politics or religion in our current times but sports that can bring us together, like the World Cups. In modern times, we have access to sports channels which takes us to that point. When England is playing at world level, I watch the football. I know enough to understand and appreciate the joys when our team is doing well. Four years ago, I was sitting in Millennium Square to watch England play football in the 2014 World cups.
