The draw for next summer's European Championship in Germany took place in Hamburg with 21 of the 24 qualified teams finding out who they will meet in their respective groups. have put together markets ahead of Euro 2024, and they will adjust their prices between now and the end of the tournament.

Italy start their defence on Saturday 15 June against Albania, who were the surprise package of the qualifying campaign. Albania topped Group E ahead of the Czech Republic and Poland, and they are not going to Germany simply to make up the numbers.

Italy beat England on penalties to win Euro 2020, when the tournament was delayed a year because of the Covid-19 pandemic. Gareth Southgate's side are among the early favourites after being drawn in a group with Slovenia, Denmark and Serbia. But which nation will come out on top?

Who Plays Who In Which Group?

The draw for the European Championships whets the appetite for what will come next summer as Germany opens its door for the biggest tournament in European football. This is the first time Germany will host a major tournament since the 2006 World Cup and this will be the first since their reunification in 1990. Twelve countries will battle it out for the final three spots in the playoffs in March.

As the host nation, Germany did not have to qualify for Euro 2024, and they were drawn in a tough looking group. Joining the Germans in Group A are Switzerland, Hungary and Scotland. Steve Clarke will hope his side have learnt from the last European Championships, when they finished bottom of their group that included Croatia, the Czech Republic and England. Clarke has seven months to plan for the tournament's opening game against Germany in Munich on Friday 14 June.

Many bets will be placed on on Spain and Italy to qualify from Group B, but Croatia and Albania will have their say on that. Croatia have a great knack of making the knockout stages at major tournament, and many of their squad helped the team get to the semi-finals of the last two World Cups in Russia and Qatar.

England will be disappointed if they don't finish top of Group C, and if they do, who will finish second? Denmark, Slovenia and Serbia all have their own threats, and perhaps Denmark can leave the other two nations to battle it out to be one of the four best third-placed teams.

The Netherlands, Austria and France won't know who completes their group until March, when the qualification process draws to a close with a mini series of play-off games. Group D already looks a difficult one to negotiate before either Wales, Poland, Finland or Estonia take their place in the group.

Group E should be straightforward for Belgium to advance from. Slovakia and Romania are not the strongest teams while the final spot in this group will go to either Israel, Iceland, Bosnia & Herzegovina or Ukraine.

Cristiano Ronaldo will dominate a lot of headlines leading up to the tournament as he continues his remarkable career. CR7 will be 39 next summer, and while he might not be relied upon to play 90 minutes in every game, he will still pose a threat to the Czech Republic, Turkey and the third and final play-off winner. That will be battled for between Georgia, Luxembourg, Greece and Kazakhstan. Ronaldo has scored 128 international goals, and this could be his 11th and final major tournament.

England had never had a better chance of winning a first major tournament since the 1966 World Cup when they lost to Italy on penalties in the final of Euro 2020 at Wembley in July 2021. Gareth Southgate's side once again came through this qualification without too much fuss, and they are the early favourites for next summer's tournament along with World Cup finalists France.

Southgate has a decent record at major tournaments, with a World Cup semi-final in Russia in 2018 to go with a final appearance at Euro 2020. With Harry Kane and Jude Bellingham scoring goals for fun in the Bundesliga for Bayern Munich and La Liga for Real Madrid, respectively, goals should not be an issue for the Three Lions.
