Euro qualifiers value acca predictions: Albania can continue push

The race to qualify for Euro 2024 is hotting up with a number of big games to look forward to on Thursday night.

Albania versus Czech Republic sees first take on second in Group E – and the host Albanians get the nod in what should be a frenzied atmosphere.

Meanwhile, in the same pool, Poland's hopes of qualifying for the Euros will all but disappear if they do not win in the Faroe Islands but, even without Robert Lewandowski, they can come good.

It is also first against second in Group D, with Croatia taking on Turkey in Osijek, a game that promises its share of goals.

The treble, if successful, will return £299.52 from a £10 bet at odds of 28.95/1.

Group E has turned into a thrilling four-way heat for two qualifying places, with Albania and Czech Republic occupying the top two spots in the pool.

They meet in what will be a cauldron in Tirana and Czech head coach Jaroslav Silhavy admits that if his team do not rise to the challenge, they are in for a tricky evening.

The Albanians, with Chelsea ace Armando Broja fit to return and boasting a stack of Serie A stars of the calibre of Atalanta centre-back Berat Djimsiti and Inter ace Kristjan Asllani, have been massively improved this year under the leadership of ex-Arsenal defender Sylvinho.

They are unbeaten in four matches and have bagged a pair of 2-0 wins over Moldova and Poland at their fortress in Tirana.

The Czechs are packed with experience but made errors in the home game against Albania, which ended 1-1 and they remain without chief goal-getter Patrik Schick, who is still injured.

Thursday 7:45pm

Poland head into the North Atlantic minus the key figure of Lewandowski as they attempt to find a way into the Group E qualification frame.

The Poles are fourth in the section, two points adrift of the second-placed Czechs, and the pressure is on them to start getting results.

They have played three away games in 2023 and have lost the lot. They are clearly going to be weaker without Lewandowski, the Barcelona ace whose brace saw the Poles beat Faroe Islands 2-0 when they met in Warsaw last month.

In Thorshavn, and minus their record scorer and a player who has scored three of their seven goals this year, Poland are up against it.

However, it is hard to believe that players of the calibre of Arkadiusz Milik, Piotr Zielinski and others cannot put the Faroes to bed.

And while Poland's away form is iffy, it is no worse than the Faroes' home form. They have lost all three home fixtures in 2023 and not scored a single goal.

Indeed, they are without a win in eight internationals.

Thursday 7.45pm

Group D is a thrilling four-way heat with pace-setters Croatia and Turkey meeting in Osijek in a critical contest.

Croatia will pretty much put the tin lid on qualification by beating the Turks, who can ill-afford to slip up with Armenia and Wales breathing down their necks.

The Crescent Stars have won both of their away games so far, 2-1 in Armenia and 3-2 in Latvia.

Both teams have scored in eight of their last 10 internationals and seven of those have produced three goals or more.
