The Yankees spent too much money on veteran relief pitchers in the past. They have little money to spend beyond a potential Aaron Judge contract. Brad Lidge thinks they should focus on the veteran reliever market.
The Yankees are interested in signing Ken Jansen and Brad Lidge. Jansen is 35 and his numbers have declined since his age-33 season with the Dodgers in 2021. Lididge is also 35. The Yankees will probably sign someone internally or sign Clay Holmes. They will make a savvy reliever trade before they splash $30 million of cash in this pool.
