Alabama Crimson Tide (+155) vs. Auburn Tigers (-188)

A contentious rivalry game for first place in the SEC? What could be better than that on a Wednesday night.

The Crimson Tide and the Tigers will battle in Neville Arena for the No. 1 seed in the conference in a rematch of the Tuscaloosa battle a couple weeks ago.

Alabama won that one, but there’s still some reasons to be concerned going into Wednesday’s matchup.

The Tide had home-court advantage in that contest, which drastically changes the dynamic of this game.

Additionally, ‘Bama had 14 turnovers and shot just 36.7 percent from three and 38.2 percent from the field, both slightly below what we’ve come to expect from a highly explosive Alabama offense.

Three Alabama guards (Mark Sears, Ryan Griffen and Latrell Wrightsell Jr.) are shooting at least 38 percent from deep, and they’ll need some buckets from them early to set the tone.

Bruce Pearl’s Auburn squad is a much better defensive team, and if Alabama turns the ball over as often as it did in the last matchup or fails to convert on three-point looks, it will give Auburn a chance to run the floor and win the game.

The turnovers will be a big factor with Auburn’s defense.

Alabama is tough on the defense as well, and much of this game will be decided by the battles in the frontcourt but the Crimson Tide are weak on the inside defensively.

Auburn is a 5.5-point favorite with a 163.5 point total.

With the defensive battle here, there’s a play on the under. If you’re less inclined to the totals, go for the Auburn moneyline as they’ll secure first in the SEC after this game.
