Fantastic way put down amid same-race double-whammy
Alexis Badel and Jack Wong Ho-nam fell off their horses in a 1,200-meter race at Sha Tin Racecourse yesterday. One horse with a leg fracture was euthanized. It was the first day of the new Sha tin Race Course. Last December, a pileup at a Group 1 Hong Kong Sprint at the racecourse ended in three jockeys being taken to hospital and two horses put down on the track. Two of them were in serious condition but recovered and returned to the tracks. Golden Sixty won the seventh race. A punter, Cheung, said fans cheer up when they drink cold beer.
