Find the best promos and bonuses

ON March 11, 2024, online sports betting will officially come to North Carolina after years of offering retail-only wagering.

The pre-registration process starts on March 1, where bettors sign up for special promos to get ready for launch-day.

Along with the launch, a number of the top online sportsbooks are coming to the state.

To launch in the state, these sportsbooks enlisted partnerships, including professional sports teams and leagues.

Below, I’ll walk you through the best of the best and their pre-registration promos I’ll tell you what to expect with these sites and provide my first-hand experience via a pros and cons section.

Per North Carolina law, up to 12 online sportsbooks can co-exist in the state simultaneously.

Below, I’ll touch on the sites we know are coming and fill you in on any partnerships they may have. These partnerships are essential as these could be some insight into future promotional material.

Let’s check them out.

Partnering up with NASCAR, a league with a racetrack, Charlotte Motor Speedway, in the state presents exciting opportunities for players at DraftKings North Carolina

Entering the platform for the first time, players will gain access to a vast menu of player-prop betting options across all sports. Additionally, DraftKings offers daily fantasy sports, the niche that allowed their popularity in the early 2010s to soar as it did.

While the welcome bonus is unknown with the new launch, you can expect daily promotions such as those for parlay betting, profit boosts, odds boosts, and more.

While DraftKings partnered with the NASCAR league, BetMGM inked a deal with Charlotte Motor Speedway. With this partnership, players can almost certainly expect promotions involving trips to the track, though nothing is confirmed yet.

BetMGM is the top online sports betting site for parlay enjoyers with its Easy Parlay page and numerous pre-built “One Game Parlay” betting options for most games.

While placing a bet at an online sportsbook in North Carolina or anywhere else will be seamless once you get comfortable with it, everyone needs to start somewhere.

Below, I’ll go over how to accomplish this step-by-step:

After reading my mini reviews above or the full reviews found with us, decide which site(s) fit your needs best. Remember to use the link for the best promotions and bonuses.

Create an account after clicking our links or downloading the mobile app. This process will take mere minutes to complete. You’ll need to provide personal information about yourself.

Once your account is created, head to the cashier page and make a deposit. Many sites will have a quick-access link in the upper-right corner of the page. Choose your desired method and complete the process.

With funds loaded into your account, head back to the homepage, look for the sport/team/game you want to bet on, and add it to your betslip. With the game added, input the amount you wish to wager, wait for the results, and (hopefully) collect your winnings!

North Carolina has several popular sports teams from the college ranks and the professional leagues.

We’ll touch on them below.

The Panthers are coming off a tough 2-15 season last year but hope to rebound in a big way in 2024-25 with another year of Bryce Young under center and with new head coach Dave Canales.

At the time of this writing, the Hornets are among the worst teams in the NBA.

They will look ahead to the 2024 NBA Draft, hoping to get new talent to assist LaMelo Ball, Brandon Miller, Miles Bridges, and others.

As the 2023-24 NHL season unfolds, the Hurricanes are among the best in the Eastern Conference.

At the time of this writing, they’re second in the Metropolitan Division, only behind the New York Rangers.

Duke Blue Devils: The Blue Devils are a perennial title contender in the NCAA basketball ranks. However, they may look toward the season with limited action from Kyle Filipowski following an injury after a fan ran into him during a court storm.

North Carolina Tar Heels: The Tar Heels are a legendary college program, producing stars like Michael Jordan for the NBA and seeing many recent quarterbacks like Sam Howell, Mitchell Trubisky, and Drake Maye head to the NFL.

NC State Wolfpack: The Wolfpack has plenty of high-level sports teams, including their women’s basketball team that made it to the Elite Eight in 2022. They’ve also produced star players like Philip Rivers in football and David Thompson in basketball.

Wake Forest Demon Deacons: The football team at Wake Forest was founded in 1888, and their record is 488-677-33, along with an 11-6 bowl game record. They’ve won two conference and two division titles. For men’s basketball, they’ve made a single Final Four back in the 1960s.

Opening in 1960, Charlotte Motor Speedway has been part of the NASCAR Cup Series since. The most recent winner came at the Coca-Cola 600 in May 2023, with Ryan Blaney taking home the win.

Beyond these sports, though, you’ll find many other markets, including MMA, boxing, darts, cycling, cricket, and much more.

If you’re looking to bet on sports in North Carolina, you must be at least 21 and within the state's borders.

While that information isn’t known yet, with any new state launching online sports betting, you can expect all sites to up the ante on their welcome bonuses.

Yes. Online sports betting is legal in North Carolina and will officially launch on March 11, 2024.
