LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — Las Vegas has now officially hosted its first-ever Super Bowl, and reports show betting records were also broken.

The Nevada Gaming Control Board (NGCB) released figures on Monday showing that a record-breaking $185.6 million was wagered in Nevada's 182 sportsbooks for Super Bowl LVIII.

NGCB Senior Economic Analyst Michael Lawton said, "Unaudited figures show a sportsbook win of $6,802,264 was recorded on wagers totaling $185,612,813."

According to the released numbers, this year's Big Game had $30 million more in bets compared to Super Bowl 57, when the Kansas City Chiefs defeated the Philadelphia Eagles.

"The Nevada Gaming Control Board congratulates and thanks all the stakeholders involved for successfully delivering such a spectacular event from the state of Nevada," NGCB Chairman Kirk Hendrick added.
