Five Managers Catching the Eye: Julien Stephan at RC Strasbourg

Julien Stephan is a former footballer and manager of Rennes. He won the first trophy in 48 years and qualified for the Champions League. Stephan quit his post at Rennes in March. Now he's in charge of RC Strasbourg. He's spearheading the push for a Champions league spot. His father Guy is assistant to Didier Deschamps and his brother Guillaume was a footballer.

Stephan is the new coach of RC Strasbourg. He has already improved the club's performance in the Ligue 1. Stephan has just three years of experience in management. At Rennes he managed some top players, including Edouard Mendy, Raphinha and Ismaïla Sarr. He also managed Eduardo Camavinga, who was sold to Real Madrid for £30m. Strasburg are currently 4th in Lig, two points off 3rd place and 4 points behind Nice. They have won their last 3 games on the spin and have five wins in six matches.

Strasbourg have only achieved one top-10 Ligue 1 finish since 2000 (9th). They haven't finished in the top four since 1978/79. The only other time they finished outside the Top-two was in 1934/35. Strasbourg are currently 4th in Lig, their best position since 1997.
