Five names for the shortlist at Cheltenham on Saturday

Chris Wilson shares five names to note on an exciting card from the International Meeting at Cheltenham this Saturday. The weather is forecast to be cold and the two-day International meeting is being planned for the weekend.

Aidan O'Brien's three-year-old is going places in a hurry. He won his debut at Sedgefield in October and was sent to Cheltenham for another Triumph trial at the November meeting. Scriptwriter is not foot-perfect in the jumping department but he is a good jumper.

Monmiral will start at 12.40 in the Novices' Chase at Cheltenham. He was beaten by Jonbon in a similar race at Warwick last month. Bearrene is the favourite to win.

Ais December Gold Cup Handicap Chase is on the shortlist for Cheltenham. Odds are 4-1.

Midnight River is the favourite for the Ais December Gold Cup at Cheltenham on Saturday. He has been running well recently. He finished third in the Paddy Power Gold cup. His last race was at Stratford.

Nigel Twiston-Davies is hoping to maintain his Unibet International Hurdle love-in. I Like To Move It is a contender. Epatante is another contender, as is Knappers Hill. The New One won the Grade Two at Naunton in 2009.

Outlaw Peter is going to Cheltenham for the Albert Bartlett Novices' Hurdle. He has improved since his last start. Outlaw is owned by Sir Alex Ferguson. He is a good jumper. The winner of the race will be announced at the Chelterham Festival.
