Florida Atlantic vs Memphis Odds, Picks, & Predictions Tonight

While Johnell Davis is FAU's leading scorer on the season, Vladislav Goldin could prove to be the difference against Memphis on Sunday. Find out why in our college basketball betting picks below.

Sunday afternoon sees a rematch of one of last year’s best NCAA Tournament games, as the Florida Atlantic Owls square off with the Memphis Tigers in a key AAC showdown. Our college basketball odds have FAU slightly favored to win.

Florida Atlantic needs a win if it has any hopes of catching South Florida in the AAC standings, and Johnell Davis will need to continue his strong play of late if that’s to happen. He’s averaging nearly 20 points per game over his last 10, spearheading one of the top offensive attacks in the conference.

For Memphis, it’s been a rough season and the tournament is currently out of its grasp, but a win on Sunday could help strengthen the resume, and the Tigers are 11-2 this season on their home court.

Our college basketball picks for Florida Atlantic vs. Memphis on Sunday, February 25 look over the teams and help you identify a player prop with a strong probability of cashing.

Florida Atlantic vs Memphis picks and predictions

The Florida Atlantic Owls rank 19th in college basketball in adjusted offensive efficiency and 24th in eFG%. The Owls rank Top 25 in 2-point percentage, Top 50 in 3-point percentage, and grab their misses at a very high rate.

This leads to lots of opportunities for points, and points should be on offer on Sunday. The Memphis Tigers are one of the worst teams in the nation at taking care of the basketball and rank 324th in defensive rebound rate.

The Tigers will need to focus on slowing down Johnell Davis when FAU is on attack, and that should lead to opportunities for his teammates. That’s why I’m taking Vladislav Goldin to score at least 15 points on Sunday.

The FAU big man has scored 20+ points in three of his last four games and has an offensive rebounding rate of 10.7% on the season. At 7-foot-1, he’s got a height advantage over the entire Memphis front line, with no Tiger standing taller than 6-foot-10 among players with regular minutes.

Goldin’s usage rate is second on the team only to Davis, and he has 44 points over his last two games. That’s despite his usage rate being lower than normal.

Memphis opponents are getting nearly 9% of their points from dunks, one of the highest splits in all of college basketball, and Goldin has been living on easy baskets. He’s got an eFG% of 64.5% on the season, and getting second-chance points will allow him to thrive in this game.

He’s also had 26 attempts near the rim over his past four games, making 17 of them. Add in his solid mid-range game and you have the makings of a player showing out against a team that simply hasn’t shown they can stop bigs like him.

DraftKings is offering even-money odds on Goldin to get 15 or more points, and I recommend heading there to get our Best Bet. This should be a high-scoring affair, and Goldin should easily flirt with another 20-pt performance.

My best bet: Vladislav Goldin Over 14.5 points (+100 at DraftKings)

Florida Atlantic vs Memphis same-game parlay

Vladislav Goldin Over 14.5 points

Johnell Davis Over 2.5 assists

Florida Atlantic moneyline

Davis has been handing out assists at a decent rate over the past two months, with a 17.2% assist rate on the season. He’s dropped 5+ dimes in each of his last three games, so we’ll take him to get at least three here as a safe option.

While Memphis has been better at home, the Tigers simply lack the defense to handle FAU’s firepower. Memphis relies on getting to the charity stripe, but FAU defends well without fouling and that should be enough for the Owls to get the job done on the road.

Florida Atlantic vs Memphis spread and Over/Under analysis

Memphis is a 1.5-point underdog in this game, and the line has stayed mostly at that spot aside from a slight move to -2 points after opening. Memphis is just 2-8 ATS in its last 10 games, although the two covers both did come in the two most recent home tilts.

FAU isn’t faring much better, with a 4-6 mark ATS over its last 10 games. That includes a 2-3 mark in the last five away from home. The Owls have been favored in all 10 of those contests.

I like FAU to win this game outright, but Memphis has been playing better offensively of late. I worry about a backdoor cover here, as I think the Tigers will be desperate knowing their tournament hopes could end with a defeat here.

What I don’t worry about is the Over, as I fully expect we'll see the game run past the 160.5-point mark that’s been set. The public agrees, having pushed the total up three points from the opening number.

Both teams have seen an even 5-5 split on the total over their last 10 games, but the Over is 4-1 in Memphis’ last five outings thanks to the improved offensive efficiency and output. FAU has scored 80+ points in five of its last six games as well, and I see both offensive units putting up points here as the Over comes through.
