Football Preview: Florida State versus Duquesne
The football season is finally here. Florida State plays its first game of the season against Duquesne Dukes on Saturday at 5 pm inside Doak Campbell Stadium.
Florida State is preparing for a football game against Duquesne. The Seminole starters are: Jordan Travis, Treshaun Ward, Cam McDonald, Malik McClain, Ontaria Wilson, Mycah Pittman, Robert Scott, Dillan Gibbons, D’Mitri Emmanuel, Darius Washington, Jared Verse, Dennis Briggs, Fabien Lovett, Renardo Green, Kevin Knowles, Jammie Robinson and Akeem Dent, Ryan Fitzgerald, P Alex Mastromanno.
Florida State's offense will be led by junior quarterback Jordan Travis. The offensive line has improved from last season. Treshaun Ward and Lawrance Toafili will get a lot of carries. The receiver room has a new talent with Mycah Pittman, Johnny Wilson, Duece Spann and Winston Wright.
Florida State lost the defensive player of the year, Jermaine Johnson, but returns almost everyone else. The defense is going to try to replace him with Jared Verse, transfer from Albany, Dennis Briggs, converted d-tackle, Derrick McClendon and others. Fabien Lovett, Robert Cooper, Jammie Robinson, Akeem Dent and Akeam Dent are the best positions on defense.
Joe Mischler, Darius Perrantes, Billy Lucas, Jeremiah Josephs and Tim Lowery are notable Duquesne players. Florida State is preparing to play Duque.
Florida State will win 49-10 against Duquesne.
