Former Juventus men reveal player Allegri needs to win Serie A title

Former Juventus players Alessio Tacchinardi, Darko Kovacevic and Nicola Amoruso feel the Bianconeri need a new central midfielder to win the Serie A title this season.

Juventus sit second in the Serie A table, just two points below Inter. With Paul Pogba precautionarily suspended after failing a doping test and Nicolò Fagioli banned for his involvement in a betting scandal, it is believed the Bianconeri will try to sign a new central midfielder in the winter transfer window.

Former Bianconeri players Tacchinardi, Kovacevic and Amoruso agree that reinforcement in the middle of the park is what Allegri needs to remain in the title race and try to win the first Scudetto for Juventus in four years.

“The opponents’ box is often empty, so I would sign a player like Rodrigo De Paul,” Tacchinardi told La Gazzetta dello Sport.

Former striker Kovacevic agrees with his former teammate: “With Locatelli and Rabiot already in the team, I would go for a technically gifted box-to-box midfielder,” the 50-year-old told the pink paper.

Amoruso, another ex-Juventus striker, also said the Serie A giants should sign a player to replace Pogba and Fagioli.

It remains to be seen if Juventus will make a big investment in January, as the latest reports suggest the Bianconeri will only get reinforcement if they manage to sell Samuel Iling-Junior or Matias Soulé on permanent transfers worth over €25m in the January transfer window.
