From Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy to Golf's Best Mullet: Unofficial Awards From a Year of Rebellion

Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy are among golfers who have won the "Best Mullet" award.

The Ranking has just handed out its year-end awards. The Barkys are an unofficial recognition of the best golfing moments of 2022. LIV Golf, a Saudi-funded rival, has been a major influence on the PGA Tour.

Scottie Scheffler won four times this year. Rory McIlroy won three times, but only one of them was the Tour Championship. Cameron Smith won the British Open and the Players.

Cameron Smith won the Open Championship and the Players Championship. He was nominated for the Best Performance With a Mullet. Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy were also nominated.

David Spade won the award for Best Performance With a Fake Mullet. He got it by getting in on the joke after Adam Smith won The Open.

The Nearly Man Award is given to the player with the most heartbreaking close calls. Willy Zalatoris was on pace to win it last year, but he won the St. Jude Championship in a wild playoff. Cameron Young had five runner-up finishes and two thirds.

Golf's Best Mullet is the award for the wookie of the year.

Leftfielder of the Year is given to the player who charged out of left field onto a major championship leaderboard. Chile’s Mito Pereira would have won the PGA Championship if he parred Southern Hills” 72nd hole.

Scottie Scheffler won the Masters on Sunday. He four-putted the final green.

Rory McIlroy and Collin Morikawa won the Masters together. Scottie Scheffler won Golf's Best Mullet. The only thing missing is Shooter McGavin.

Cameron Smith wins the Golden Rake Award for his shot at the 17th green. Matthew Fitzpatrick gets an Honorable Mention Barky for winning the U.S. Open at The Country Club.

Rory McIlroy won the Tour Championship after a slow start. Tom Kim won at the Wyndham Championship. He started the tournament with a quadruple bogey.

J.T. Poston won the John Deere Classic. Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy were also given an award.

Tiger Woods made a comeback a year ago after a serious car crash. He played nine rounds of golf in the Masters, PGA and Open Championship. His scorecard got messy, he shot under par twice and had four rounds that were 78 or higher.

Rory McIlroy's drive at the Canadian Open hit Justin Thomas' ball and the TV crew helped him to replace it. McIroy went on to win the tournament.

Sahith Theegala won the Hey Mulligan Man Award for his poor play at the Travelers Championship’s 72nd hole. He had a one-shot lead but hit driver into a fairway bunker, boned his next shot into the bunker face and missed a bogey putt to lose.

Livivir is an irrational threat to the PGA Tour. Pga Tour commissioner Jay Monahan calls LIV an "irrational threat". Livvir golfers will not be allowed to play on the Tour again.

Rory McIlroy brought his daughter Poppy to the PGA Championship media center to show her the billboards honoring past champions.

Tom Hoge is the winner of the award for the most delicious player.
