From the Archives: A 1947 Feature on Conn Smythe

Stan Fischler found a feature on Conn Smythe in Collier's magazine. The writer Trent Frayne wrote it. Stan was a fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs. The story is over three pages long. It has been preserved in Stan's scrapbook for 75 years. He wishes he could read it to you. His favourite magazines are Life, Look, The Saturday Evening Post and Colliers. Maclean's was the number one magazine in Canada. They often featured hockey stories. In the 1950s, hockey got scant attention in the popular weekly and monthly publications. Uncle Sam's favorite magazines were Life and Look.
