Georgia football players Ohio State fans need to know

Georgia is the defending national champions and the top seed in the College Football Playoff. Kirby Smart has turned the program from underachieving to a national powerhouse.

Georgia has the second-highest recruiting class in the country, according to 247Sports. Georgia and Ohio State are playing in a semifinal in Peach Bowl on December 31.

Stetson Bennett is a finalist for the Hesiman Trophy. He is the first Georgia player to win it in three decades. Bennett has been successful as the starter for Georgia, throwing for 3,425 yards and 20 touchdowns and only six interceptions.

Brock Bowers is a finalist for the John Mackey Award as the nation's top tight end. He is the leading receiver for Georgia Bulldogs with 52 receptions for 726 yards and six touchdowns. Iowa's Sam LaPorta and Notre Dame's Michael Mayer are also John McKey Award finalists.

Jalen Carter has been injured this fall. He has recovered and is a game-wrecking defensive tackle for Georgia. Georgia has reloaded on defense after seeing a record five defenders taken in the first round of the NFL draft last spring.

Christopher Smith is a finalist for the Nagurski Award as the nation's top defensive player. He has made 50 tackles, grabbed three interceptions and broken up six passes in coverage for Georgia.

Broderick Jones is Georgia's starting left tackle. He has not allowed a hit on quarterback Bennett until the SEC title game.
