Golden State Warriors vs. Los Angeles Clippers Prediction, Preview, and Odds

The Golden State Warriors are on the road as they head to the Crypto.com Arena on Saturday afternoon against the Los Angeles Clippers. The Warriors are 10th in the Western Conference with a 9-10 record while the Clippers are 11th in the West with an 8-10 record. This is the second of four games against one another as they faced off on Thursday with the Warriors picking up a 120-114 home win.

Golden Age Ending?

The Golden State Warriors have been doing an average job as they are 12th in the NBA with 114.9 points per game thus far while shooting 45.3 percent from the floor as a team. Point guard Stephen Curry has been on a tear this season as he is seventh in the league with 29.5 points per game so far while shooting 43.1 from the three-point line right now.

Golden State has looked like they are decent on the defensive side of the floor as they are 19th in the NBA with 114.5 points per game given up. A big reason why is the fact they are allowing 46.1 percent from the three-point line. If they are able to defend with some injuries, specifically in the backcourt, they will be in a good spot.

Injury Report for Golden State

Power forward Usman Garuba: Finger (Questionable)

Point guard Chris Paul: Leg (Questionable)

Small forward Andrew Wiggins: Finger (Questionable)

Point guard Gary Payton II: Calf (OUT)

Clippers Turning it Around

The Los Angeles Clippers are not looking too good as their offense has been scoring 112.9 points per game and are also shooting a solid 46.8 percent from the floor. Shooting guard Paul George has been doing well this season as he is scoring 23.4 points per game this season. Their offense needs to look a lot better this season and should be able to continue to showcase their abilities in this matchup, despite the injuries to the rotation.

The defense of the Los Angeles Clippers has been dominating as they are currently sixth with 109.6 points per game given up while allowing teams to shoot just 34.0 percent from beyond the arc against them. Their defense has to be able to limit points against them if they want to be successful.

Injury Report for Los Angeles

Point guard Brandon Boston Jr: Concussion (OUT)

Center Mason Plumlee: Knee (OUT)

Rating:

The injuries to the Warriors seem to be piling up as starters are getting banged up while the Clippers are beginning to click since the James Harden trade. The Warriors won by six points at home but this should flip here. When looking at the defenses in the last handful of games, Golden State is allowing 118.3 points in their previous four games while Los Angeles is giving up 110.8 points in their last five games. The injuries to Chris Paul and a game-time decision of Andrew Wiggins makes the Warriors a vulnerable target.

Prediction: Los Angeles Clippers -5.5

Full-Game Total Pick

Rating:

These teams have been scoring extremely well as of late with the Warriors averaging 119.4 points in their previous five games while the Clippers are scoring 114.0 points in their last four games. Throughout the season, they are getting to the free-throw line as Golden State is attempting 24.6 free-throw attempts while Los Angeles is getting 24.4 trips to the charity stripe. All in all, go with OVER 229.5 POINTS in this game.

Prediction: Over 229.5
