Gordon Elliott saddled four winners on the opening day of the Ladbrokes Festival of Racing at Down Royal on Friday. Pied Piper won the Grade Two WKD Hurdle by three-and-a-quarter lengths from David Garrick. American Mike made his debut and won in the opener. Henry De Bromhead’s Magical Zoe was a surprise 18/1 winner of Mares Novice Huddle. Mighty Potter (2/5) prevailed in Beginner”s Chase. Now Where Or When (4/2) won a Handicap Chase and Carnfunnock (9/4) edged out the Elliott-trained Better Days Ahead (1/3) in last race. The action continues tomorrow with the first race at 12.53.
