Grand National 2023: Which horses are still on course for Saturday's £1 million Aintree showpiece?

Noble Yeats is on course to attempt to win back-to-back runnings of the Grand National after 50 horses were left in the £1 million race in which only 40 can run

Noble Yeats (nearest) is among 50 horses still on course for Saturday's race

The 2023 Randox Grand National will be run on Saturday and there are 50 horses still engaged in the £1 million race, in which only 40 can run

Noble Yeats is on course to chase historic back-to-back wins in the world famous race at Aintree in which he will be ridden for the first time by Sean Bowen.

Emmet Mullins' horse became the first seven-year-old to take Aintree's big race in over 80 years when he triumphed 12 months ago.

Tiger Roll was the last horse to complete the double in 2018 and 2019, joining a select group led by Red Rum, who clinched the first of his record three victories 50 years ago this year.

The Gordon Elliott-trained Defi Bleu has secured the last guaranteed slot after five horses came out on Monday, Royale Pagaille, Envoi Allen, The Shunter, Gin On Lime and Battleoverdoyen. Quick Wave and Captain Kangaroo had already been scratched.

Final declarations have to be made by 10am on Thursday morning for the race which will start at 5.15pm on Saturday.
