Greece vs. Republic of Ireland Betting Tips: Two bets for the Euro 2024 qualifying game I BettingOdds.com

Greece got off to winning ways back in March as they started their Euro 2024 qualifying campaign off with a win over Gibraltar whereas the opposite can be said for the Republic of Ireland who lost their opener to France.

Greece come into this one as the favourites with the betting sites, with Ireland priced as the 3/1 underdogs. We’ve taken a look at the betting market for the game and picked out two bets for the action.

Looking at the form for both of these teams, they’re both prone to conceding but also more often than not find themselves both on the scoresheet. For the Republic of Ireland they’ve had both teams to score land in five of their last seven games and Greece have seen the bet land in three of their last five.

Greece have proved they are vulnerable at the back on more than one occasion recently but the most concerning is conceding two goals to Malta. Malta are by no means the worst team in the world but they’re not too far off. As harsh as it sounds, if they are conceding multiple goals to a side as bad as Malta they aren’t going to be having a great time against Ireland.

Ireland actually managed to beat Malta 1-0 the game after they played Greece which fills me with confidence on them scoring. Ireland unfortunately do seem to concede a lot of goals and whilst Greece are the justified favourites here, with both teams showing signs of weakness at the back but still being capable in front of goal, I think BTTS is a great bet at 11/8.

Evan Ferguson to score anytime

Evan Ferguson looks like a great player at the very young age of 18 and has even managed to score a goal for his country in the limited three games he has played for Ireland. We’ll be backing him to test that shaky Greek defense that we were talking about at the tempting price of 10/3.

Evan Ferguson impressed in the Premier League this season and whilst six goals in 19 games might not sound the most impressive for a Premier League forward, given the circumstances it’s a really solid showing from the youngster and that has since earned him the privilege of being linked to a move to Manchester United.

Ferguson’s most impressive showing was in the FA Cup where he scored three goals in four games for Brighton bringing them all the way to the semi-final. Going back to the betting angle, 10/3 is on offer for the striker to find the back of the net and that seems incredibly generous for a very solid striker against a fairly weak Greece side.
