Grizzlies vs. Lakers same-game parlay predictions Jan. 5: Fade L.A. but back Anthony Davis at +350

Two struggling teams meet Friday night when the Los Angeles Lakers host the Memphis Grizzlies.

The pregame narrative: L.A. is 3-9 since winning the NBA In-Season Tournament on Dec. 9 while Memphis has dropped four of its past five. The Grizzlies are a solid bet to cover a teased-up spread while Anthony Davis should continue dominating on the glass.

Grizzlies vs. Lakers same-game parlay

Parlay: Grizzlies +7.5 + Davis over 12.5 rebounds + Bane under 3.5 threes (+350)

Grizzlies +7.5 (-200): If Darvin Ham's seat was any hotter, he would be on fire. The relationship between L.A.'s head coach and the locker room has reportedly soured and it's looking like his time with the team is coming to a close:

The Lakers have no shortage of talent and are capable of winning this game but they've been checked out for a while and I'm certainly not expecting a blowout.

If anything, the Grizzlies could be the ones running up the score. Memphis has lost four of its past five but is still 5-3 with Ja Morant in the lineup this season. He's playing tonight and should help the Grizzlies keep this close.

Other parlay picks

Davis over 12.5 rebounds (-159): Davis is averaging exactly 12.5 rebounds this season and has been on a tear lately, registering a pair of 17-rebound games in his last three outings.

He should continue to hoover up missed shots tonight as the Grizzlies rank an awful 25th in rebound rate (48.4%) this season. Memphis is also allowing the ninth-most rebounds per game to opposing centres, according to Fantasy Pros.

Davis recorded 11 rebounds in 27 minutes in a blowout win over the Grizzlies back in November. But tonight's game should be much closer meaning Davis will have more run to surpass this total.

Bane under 3.5 threes (-180): Desmond Bane can make it rain, as evidenced by his impressive 38.3 3-point rate this season. But asking him to hit four triples against a team like the Lakers is a bit much.

Los Angeles holds opponents to the third-lowest 3-point rate (34.5%) and Bane has gone under this total in five straight games.

He only hit two triples against the Lakers earlier this season and went under this number in all five of Memphis' playoff games with L.A. last year.
