Guardians enhancements to Progressive Field will not include immediate plans for sports gambling space
The Guardians unveiled planned renovations at Progressive Field for 2024 and 2025 on Thursday. There is no mention of a sportsbook or space devoted to sports gambling. Major League Baseball rules prohibit certain types of gambling spaces within the confines of the ballpark.
Bet365 announced a multi-year partnership with the Guardians to be the team's exclusive mobile sports betting partner. The timing of that news was coincidental to the unveiling of the club's plans for the first major renovations to Progressive Field since 2015. Major League Baseball does not allow for a physical sportsbook in the ballpark. The club will focus on Thursday's announcement and the timelines that come with it. It will look to do something that makes the most sense from a fan perspective and business perspective. If it does, it will be outside the gates.
