Guardians vs. Yankees Early Odds and Preview for ALDS After Wild Card

Guardians will play the Yankees in the American League Divisional Series. Guardians won the Wild Card round with a walk-off home run from Oscar Gonzalez. The Yankees conceded just one run in 24 innings against Tampa Bay. Shane Bieber and Triston McKenzie could be available from the start of the series.

Guardians vs. Yankees is a best-of-five series. Game 1 is on Tuesday, October 11 at New York. If necessary, Game 2 is Thursday, Oct. 13 at NY, and Game 3 is Saturday, October 15 at Cleveland.

Cleveland is playing against the Yankees in the ALDS. Shane Bieber and Triston McKenzie were outstanding in their respective starts. The bullpen did well as well. Terry Francona should not rush them back to the mound. Aaron Civale or Cal Quantrill could start Game 1. Quantill was 9-0 with a 3.28 ERA inside Progressive Field during the regular season. The team is the underdog in this series.

New York needs to take away any momentum from the Wild Card series with Gerrit Cole in Game 1. The Yankees last played on Wednesday. Cleveland is riding an emotional high. Gerri Cole has to produce a statement in the game to give the Yankees the best chance to end the series early. Last year, Gerry Cole gave up a pair of home runs and three earned runs over 2.1 innings against the Boston Red Sox.

Aaron Judge set a new American League record with his 62nd home run on the penultimate day of the regular season. He didn't have a multi-hit game in his final 13 games. The Yankees outfielder has 11 home runs and 22 RBI in 35 postseason appearances. His lone hit against Cleveland in the wild card round in 2020 was a homerun in Game 1. He also homered in ALDS Game one of that year. If Aaron Judge is loose at the plate, the Yankees may have the ability to chase one or more of Cleveland's starters early.
