“Had No Faith in Me”: Stephen Curry on Own Family Betting Against Him Amid Unthinkable New Challenge

Let it be the NBA playoffs, or the promotion of his coveted documentary Underrated, Stephen Curry‘s family has never abandoned him. Then why did the Curry family suddenly bet against the Warriors star?

It is no news that Stephen Curry has always benefited from the support of his family. And yet, the Chef confessed to a very ironic truth about his family’s sudden loss of faith in a non-NBA contest.

Stephen Curry’s battle with the spices

Steph Curry is one of the greatest shooters in NBA history. The 4x champion with a couple of MVP titles to his name is one of the most pivotal players ever to play for the Golden State Warriors.

As a matter of fact, Steph Curry, in his recently released film Underrated, credits his family for his glorious career. He talks at length about how his family, especially his parents, played an instrumental role in the making of the Warriors’ megastar that he is today.

The Curry family’s trust in Steph is absolute. However, they seem to be a little iffy about Curry and his battle with the fiery chicken wings as Curry makes an appearance on the Hot Ones. Sean Evans hosts this YouTube talk show where he interviews celebrities while they consume a series of chicken wings. The only twist here: Each chicken wing has got a hot sauce that’s spicer than the one before.

Why wouldn’t the Curry family bet on Stephen?

With ten progressively hotter sauces, this is truly a show with “hot questions, and even hotter wings.” And these spicy sauces are probably the reason for the Curry Family’s sudden loss of faith.

While dripping in hot sweats, Curry disclosed this on the show, “I just want you to know…I’m winning a real, real significant bet in my family right now…they had no faith in me.”

Curry’s confession brought forth a giggle from Evans, who called him “Underrated.” Steph was seen struggling with the level of spice. The sizzling fiery wings stuck to his tongue, leaving him all sweaty and teary-eyed. So maybe the Curry family was not entirely wrong in thinking that Curry wouldn’t be able to handle this contest.

But Steph is the GOAT, on and off the court. Even with the hot spices rolling on the tongue, the star refused to quit. He said, “Almost there…come on, I told you I’m competitive…come on, bring it on.” Despite what the Curry family thinks, Steph’s resilience in this contest, and every other, was applaud-worthy. Isn’t it?
